Road Map For Partner Schools

Schools utilize the following roadmap as a guide through the Partner School Science Program (PSSP) journey, considering that the timings on the form may vary depending on the registration period.

October:

  • Submit the filled "Application Form" to GFTSE.
  • Communicate with GFTSE to discuss technical capabilities at your school.
  • Exchange initial emails between teachers.
  • Send the "Student List" to GFTSE, including Name, Surname, Gender, Grade, your partner school, and the Distance Learning Expert.
  • Exchange the "School Calendar" with your partner school and GFTSE.
  • Organize and participate in the 1st "Meet and Greet" Videoconference (VC).
  • Choose the 1st topic from GFTSE "s "Curriculum " with your partner school.
  • Inform the Distance Learning Expert about the topic and start working on pre-event activities.
  • Provide two alternative dates at least one month in advance to GFTSE for both the test VC and the VC Event itself to secure availability. Example:
    • Test Alternative Date 1: November 15, 10:00 EST (Eastern Standard Time)
    • Test Alternative Date 2: November 20, 10:00 EST
    • Event Alternative Date 1: December 5, 10:00 EST
    • Event Alternative Date 2: December 15, 10:00 EST
  • All GFTSE Videoconferences with PSSP must be Monday – Friday between 08:00 am – 1:00 pm EST (Eastern Standard Time – U.S.).
  • Encourage your students to send the first emails to partners.
  • Make announcements to participate in E-Pal Week.

November:

  • Encourage students to exchange emails.
  • Preparation for the Event.
  • Participate in VC (Event # 1) in the first week of the month.
  • Start working on Post-Event activities.
  • Ensure that the students complete their projects by the Project Presentation.
  • Organize and participate in the 1st "Project Presentation."

December:

  • Encourage students to exchange emails.
  • Choose the 2nd topic and make a reservation from Space Expert with your partner school.
  • Inform the Distance Learning Expert about the topic start working on pre-event activities and provide all information to GFTSE just like the Example above.
  • Participate in VC (Event # 2).
  • Prepare and send the "Culture Capsule" to the partners.
  • Make sure that the students complete their projects by the Project Presentation.

January:

  • Encourage students to exchange emails.
  • Encourage students to discuss their projects with their partners.
  • Organize and participate in the 2nd "Project Presentation."
  • Choose the 3rd topic with your partner school.
  • Inform GFTSE about the topic, test, and actual VCs alternative dates and start working on pre-event.

February:

  • Participate in VC (Event # 3) in the first week of the month.
  • Announce to participate in E-Pal Week.
  • Organize a student group for E-Pal Week.
  • Ensure that students make their payments on time to take advantage of discount opportunities.
  • Make sure that the students complete their projects by the Project Presentation.

March:

  • Encourage students to exchange emails.
  • Organize and participate in the 3rd "Project Presentation."
  • Choose the 4th topic with your partner school.
  • Inform GFTSE about the topic, test, and actual VC's alternative dates and start working on the pre-event.
  • Remind students about the E-Pal Week paperwork and payment deadline.
  • Inform the Distance Learning Expert about E-Pal participant students, their partners, and chaperones.
  • Participation in VC (Event # 4).

April:

  • Encourage students to exchange emails.
  • Encourage students to discuss their projects with their partners.
  • Make sure that the students complete their projects by the Project Presentation.
  • Organize and participate in the 4th "Project Presentation."
  • Choose the 5th topic with your partner school.
  • Inform GFTSE about the topic, test, and actual VCs' alternative dates and start working on the pre-event.
  • Return forms and make all payments regarding E-Pal Week.
  • Participation in VC (Event # 5).

May:

  • Encourage students to exchange emails.
  • Make sure that the students complete their projects by the Project Presentation.
  • Organize and participate in the 5th "Project Presentation."
  • Prepare for participation in E-Pal Week.
  • Prepare for the Science Fair during E-Pal Week.
  • Prepare for Special Events Night at E-Pal Week.

June:

  • Finalize any prep work for participation in E-Pal Week.
