Partner School Science Program (PSSP)

PSSP serves as an exemplary manifestation of Global Friendship in action. Since 2002, GFTSE and the PSSP have been uniting science classrooms worldwide, driven by a mutual passion for space science and exploration among all participants. Employing effective NASA-based learning materials and project-based teaching methods, the initiative seeks to cultivate communication, appreciation, and understanding among students from partner schools, transcending cultural and linguistic boundaries.

Students not only experience an exciting and stimulating learning environment but also benefit from GFTSE's assignment of "E-Pals" from diverse cultures. These E-Pals go beyond academic interactions, forming lifelong friendships and creating enduring memories through email exchanges that delve into not just space-related subjects and projects but also the day-to-day aspects of their lives. This unique multicultural facet contributes to PSSP's distinctive appeal, ensuring the return of teachers and students year after year. The program has successfully connected over 6000 students from schools in the United States, Türkiye, Canada, Israel, Italy, Poland, England, Bulgaria, France, Slovenia, and Lithuania since its inception.

Program Components:

  • Collaborative Project-Based Research: Engage in cooperative research projects, utilizing NASA-based learning materials to explore the realms of space science.
  • Videoconferencing and Facilitation: Experience interactive learning through videoconferencing facilitated by our state-of-the-art Digital Learning Centre. This platform allows students to showcase their work and models to a Space Expert.
  • E-Pal Week: Participate in the optional E-Pal Week, a special summer session at Space Camp Türkiye. This intensive experience adds a dynamic dimension to the program, allowing students to delve into space-related activities.
  • Special Guest Engagements: Elevate the learning experience with the presence of special guests, including astronauts and NASA scientists, at E-Pal Week. These distinguished personalities offer inspiring presentations and engage in intimate meet-and-greet sessions, time permitting.
  • The key aims of the programs are:
    • Fostering Curiosity in Math and Science: Cultivate students interest in mathematics and science by engaging them in collaborative research and hands-on scientific activities.
    • Promoting Global Awareness and Understanding: Cultivate awareness and understanding among participants regarding the diverse countries and cultures worldwide.
